Regular hours and premium hours
Overtime Calculator
This overtime calculator keeps regular hours and overtime hours for a typical week on separate lines, then estimates take-home on the paycheck frequency you choose. It does not decide whether a job is exempt under the FLSA.

How the calculator figures the estimate
Regular weekly pay is the hourly rate multiplied by regular hours. Overtime weekly pay is the hourly rate multiplied by overtime hours and by the multiplier. Combined weekly gross is those two amounts added together. Annual gross pay is the weekly total multiplied by 52.
FICA and the income-tax percentages then follow the same 2026 model used on the other pages. Take-home is annual gross minus the pre-tax amount, minus FICA, minus federal and state income tax at the rates you entered. The per-paycheck figure is that yearly net divided by the number of pay periods.
Common questions
Should the multiplier stay at 1.5?
Time-and-a-half is a common multiplier for covered nonexempt work, but the FLSA and some state laws have more rules than a single box can hold. The default of 1.5 is a starting figure you can edit. The result is not a finding that your job is covered or exempt.
Why are regular hours and overtime hours separate?
The two streams use different rates once a multiplier is applied. Showing them apart makes it clear how much of the week is ordinary pay and how much is the premium.
Does this match my employer’s overtime week?
The calculator assumes the hours you enter repeat every week for 52 weeks. Employers define the workweek, rounding, and the regular rate in ways this page does not reproduce.
Why is this not my pay stub?
A stub uses withholding tables and benefits. This estimate uses published FICA rates and the income-tax percentages you type.
What is FICA versus income tax on overtime?
Overtime wages are still wages. FICA applies to the combined annualized gross under the 2026 rates. Income tax uses the percentages you enter on the combined taxable base after the optional pre-tax amount.
